Title “Ketab Shenasi Niyayesh” (bibliography of prayers, Asmae Al-Husna, Zekriyeha, Ziyarat, Mazarat, Niyayesh Nameha), written by Seyed Bagheriyan Mowahed, Published by Bustan E Ketab Press, Qom, 2007

The book is about major books concerning prayer and praise written in Farsi and Arabic languages as well as translated works. The books are alphabetically presented along with a summary of them.

The researcher and author of the book, Bagheriyan Mowahed, believes that bibliography of prayer should answer these inquiries: what are the main books regarding prayer and praise which has been written or translated so far in Farsi and Arabic languages? What is the main topic and context of them? What is the secondary topic of each? What are the specifications and positive points of each and every one of these books?

The book is divided into four sections which are: preface that deals with four subjects of the necessity of bibliography of prayer, history of such bibliographies, a report about bibliography of prayer, and rules of writing a book. In part of the history of bibliography of prayer one reads, “So far there has not been any publication concerning bibliography of prayer. Seemingly this collection is the first book which describes prayer books.”

The second section is “literature of prayer in Shiism which reviews importance and position of prayer among Shiite Muslims and then indicates the books published by Shiite thinkers. Some of the discussions of this section include etiquette of Shiite prayer before Sheikh Tusi, Ibn Tawus and literature of prayer in Shiism, abstracts of prayer books from Safavid era until the Qajar dynasty, contemporary literature of prayer, the Sufis and composition of prayer and Salawat as well as Motaqid Al-Imamiyeh and Nozhat Al-Zohd.

As the main subjects of the book, the third and fourth sections are about explanatory bibliography of prayer and Noskhe Shenasi and non-explanatory bibliography of the books.
