As IBNA correspondent reports, this meeting was held on the sidelines of the 27th Tehran International Book Fair on Saturday March 3 as Ringgenberg, an scholar in theology and aesthetics asserted that the task of changing negative pictures illustrated of Islam and Iran can be accomplished through good translations and financial support.

“Nowadays, this picture is so bad, of course I am mostly talk about it in France, Switzerland and Germany and I don t know much about the other European countries. But this has caused for example the French publishers to avoid in printing works on Islamic and Iranian culture since they believe that people are not interested in such issues and they will face financial flop,” he said.

“For example, four years ago I authored a book on the Shrine of Imam Reza (AS) which included beautiful photos, but when I proposed it to some French publishing institutes they all rejected the work, however I believe it has its own audience in French, but it is difficult to persuade the French publishers to print and distribute them,” Ringgenberg addad.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the scholar noted: “It s evident that works on Buddhism are more welcomed in Europe than the works on Islam and it s a result of a false propagation against the latter, nevertheless organizations and institutes such as the Islamic Culture and Communication Organization in Iran can contribute to remove this problem.”
