Over 130 Shia Exegeses on Display at Int’l Quran Exhibition

Director of the Written Section of the 22nd International Quran Exhibition said the first volume of more than 130 Quran exegeses by Shia scholars are on show at the exhibition this year.

 Gholamreza Noui said some of the most important written works by Shia intellectuals from the first century after Hijra (7th century A.D.) until the modern era have been introduced in this section of the exhibition titled “15 Centuries with Shia Interpretations”.

Regarding the process of writing interpretations and glossaries of Quranic terms and verses in Shia school of thought, he said that Imam Ali (AS) was the pioneer in this movement, which was carried on by the companions and pupils of the Imam (AS).

He noted that the Quranic works of the contemporary scholars have been scientifically evaluated and selected based on entries in “The Great Islamic Encyclopedia”, “Encyclopedia of Shiism”, “Encyclopedia of The World of Islam”, “Encyclopedia of Quran and Quran Studies”, etc.

Data banks and software products containing the Quranic works presented at this section are also available for scholars and researchers.

Among the products is “Noor-ul-Anwar” published by the Research Center for Islamic Sciences in the holy city of Qom.

The 22nd edition of International Quran Exhibition opened on June 24 will run until July 14.
