Tehran Int’l Quran Expo Slated for June 24-July 14

The 23rd edition of Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition will kick off here in the Iranian capital city on Wednesday, June 24.

Mounted by the Culture Ministry’s Quran and Itra Deputy in cooperation with the Municipality of Tehran, the grand Quranic event will welcome visitors every day from 7 P.M. to midnight.

It will be hosted by the Sacred Defense Garden Museum and cover an area of 20,000 square meters.

Different sections of the expo have planned various programs and activities for the 20-day Quranic event.

More than 220 Iranian publishers as well as 21 publishers from Arab countries will showcase some 20,000 Quranic and religious titles in the Quranic Products Section.

Arts, seminary, university, children and teenagers, written, international, Quranic institutes, and digital media are some of sections of this year’s exhibition.

The international section will showcase artworks by artists from Iraq, Syria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Pakistan, Indonesia and Turkey.

20 scholars and guests from different countries will also be present at the exhibition for a few days starting on June 30.

They will attend sideline forums, special workshops and other programs.

In this edition of the event, about 20 artists from different countries, such as Iraq, Syria, Indonesia, Turkey, the Netherlands, and New Zealand, will showcase their works.

The art section of the exhibition will hold various workshops and display paintings, calligraphy works, calligraphy paintings, conceptual artworks, and photographs by 114 veteran and young artists.

The expo will also screen a number of religious movies, including “He Who Said No,” a religious epic film directed by renowned Iranian director Ahmad-Reza Darvish. The 150-minute film recounts the story of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussain (AS) and his 72 companions who were martyred in the Battle of Karbala after refusing to pledge allegiance to the tyrant ruler of the time.

The Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition is annually mounted by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

It is organized during the blessed month of Ramadan with the aim of stimulating development and promotion in concepts of the Noble Quran.

The expo showcases the latest developments and achievements in Quranic sciences, activities and products.
