Quranic, Religious Books among Winners of Iran Book of the Year Awards

Several books on Quranic and Islamic themes were among winners of this year’s Book of the Year Awards in Iran.

 

The winners were announced in a ceremony held Sunday night at Vahdat (unity) hall in Tehran.

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani officiated the ceremony.

‘Orientalists and Ibn Abbas’ Quran Interpretations’ by Nosrat Nilsaz, ‘An Approach to the Holy Quran in Description of the Quran’ by Muhammad Abed Jaberi and ‘Imam Mahdi (AS) Encyclopedia Based on the Quran’ were the Quranic works that received the award.

Nazim Zeynalov’s translation of the Holy Quran into Russian also won the award.

Zeynalov is a graduate of Al-Mustafa International University. His rendering is the first Quran translation into Russian by a Shia Muslim.

It took him 5 years to complete the work and the translation is said to be without any denominational prejudices.

The winners of the 33rd Islamic Republic of Iran’s Book of the Year Awards also included works on Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), religion and Islamic mysticism (Irfan).
