Good Manners

Rehabilitate the wrongdoer by your good deed [towards him], and indicate towards good through your good words.

الأدبُ كمالُ الرَّجُلِ . ح: 998

Good manners are the perfection of man. H: 998

الأدبُ أحْسَنُ سَجِيّةٍ . ح: 967

Good manners are the best disposition. H: 967

خيرُ ما وَرّثَ الآباءُ الأبناءَ الأدبُ . ح: 5036

The best inheritance parents bequeath their progeny are good manners. H: 5036

حُسنُ الأدبِ أفضلُ نَسَبٍ وأشرفُ سَبَبٍ . ح: 4853

Good manners are the best lineage and the noblest means. H: 4853

عليكَ بالأدبِ فإنَّهُ زَيْنُ الحَسَبِ . ح: 6096

Acquire good manners, for they are the best personal merit. H: 6096

لا زينةَ كالآدابِ . ح: 10466

كلُّ شي‏ءٍ يَحتاجُ إلى العقلِ ، والعقلُ يَحتاجُ إلَى الأدبِ . ح: 6911

Everything needs the mind, and the mind needs good manners. H: 6911

مَن زادَ أدبُهُ على‏ عقلِهِ كانَ كالرّاعي بينَ غَنَمٍ كثيرةٍ . ح: 8886

He whose good manners surpass his reason is like a shepherd among numerous sheep. H: 8886

تَولَّوْا مِن أنفسِكُم تأديبَها، واعدِلُوا بها عَن ضَراوةِ عاداتِها . ح: 4522

Take charge of the discipline of your selves and shift them away from their rough habits. H: 4522

مَن كَلِفَ بالأدبِ قَلَّتْ مَساوِيهِ . ح: 8271

A man who is preoccupied with good manners has fewer vices. H: 8271

بالأدبِ تُشْحَذُ الفِطَنُ . ح: 4333

The intellect is sharpened by good manners. H: 4333

أفضلُ الأدبِ أن يَقِفَ الإنسانُ عند حَدِّه ولا يَتَعدّى‏ قَدْرَهُ . ح: 3241

The best of manners is for man to stop at his limits and to not exceed his status. H: 3241

أحسَنُ الآدابِ ما كَفَّكَ عنِ المَحارِمِ . ح: 3298

The best of manners is that which prevents you from committing sins. H: 3298

أصْلِحْ المُسي‏ءَ بحُسْنِ فِعالِكَ ، ودُلَّ علَى الخيرِ بِجميلِ مَقالِكَ . ح: 2304

The means to purify one's moral virtues is good etiquette. H: 5520

ضَبْطُ النّفْسِ عندَ الرَّغَبِ والرَّهَبِ مِن أفضلِ الأدبِ . ح: 5932

Self-restraint in times of desire and fear is one of the best manners. H: 5932

مَنْ لم يَصْلُحْ على‏ أدبِ اللَّهِ لم يَصْلُحْ على أدبِ نفسِهِ . ح: 9001

A man who is not reformed through the etiquette of Allah will not be rehabilitated through his self-discipline. H: 9001
