Imam al-Mahdi (AS) in the Scale of Wisdom

It is not permissible for anyone to use the property of another without his permission.

كمال الدين عَن سَعْدِ بنِ عبدِ اللَّهِ القُمّيّ - لمّا سَألَهُ (الإمام المهدى عليه السلام) عَنِ العِلّة الّتي تَمْنَعُ القومَ من اختيارِ إمامٍ لأنفسِهِم - قال : مُصْلِحٌ أو مُفْسِدٌ؟ ، قلتُ : مُصْلحٌ ، قالَ : فَهَلْ يَجوزُ أنْ تَقَعَ خِيَرَتُهُمْ علَى المُفْسِدِ بَعْدَ أنْ لا يَعلمَ أحدٌ ما يَخْطِرُ بِبالِ غيرِهِ مِن صَلاحٍ أو فسادٍ ؟ قلتُ : بلى‏ ، قالَ : فَهِيَ العِلَّةُ . كمال الدين : 461 / 21 .

Imam Mahdi (AS), when Sad b. Abdillah al-Qummi asked him the reason why people cannot elect an Imam for themselves, replied, 'Would he be a righteous man or a corrupt man?' I said, 'Righteous.' He said, 'Is it possible that the selected individual be actually corrupt, for no one really knows what passes through another's mind, in terms of their righteousness or corruption?' I said, 'Yes'. He said, 'That is the reason why.' Kamal al-Din, p. 461, no. 21

الإمامُ المهديُّ عليه السلام : أمّا وَجهُ الانْتِفاعِ بي في غَيبَتي فكالانْتِفاعِ بالشَّمسِ إذا غَيَّبها عَنِ الأبصارِ السَّحابُ ، وإنّي لَأمانٌ لأهلِ الأرضِ . بحار الأنوار : 52 / 92 / 7 .

 Imam al-Mahdi (AS) said, 'The way that people benefit from me during my occultation is as they benefit from the sun when the clouds cover it from the sights. I am indeed a [source of] security for the dwellers of the earth.' Bihar al-Anwar, v. 52, p. 92, no. 7

الإمامُ المهديُّ عليه السلام وقد سألَه عليُّ بنُ مهزيارَ : يا سيّدي ، متى‏ يكونُ هذا الأمرُ ؟ - إذا حِيلَ بينَكُم وبينَ سبيلِ الكعبةِ . نور الثقلين : 5 / 461 / 4 .

 Imam al-Mahdi (AS), when Ali b. Mahzyar asked him, 'O my master, when will this rule be?', replied, 'When the way between you and the Kabah will close.' Nur al-Thaqalayn, v. 1, p. 314, no. 5023

الإمامُ المهديُّ عليه السلام : لا يَحِلُّ لأِحدٍ أن يَتَصَرَّفَ في مالِ غَيرِهِ بغَيرِ إذنِهِ . وسائل الشيعة : 17 / 309 / 4 .
