Some hadith scholars have regarded its document as mutawatir. Meanwhile, there are few citations in the fiqhi (jurisprudential) books of the al-Sahifah al-Sajjadiyyah under homolateral issues. The main issue is that how the claim for al-Sahifah al-Sajjadiyyah’s tawatur was brought about. The truth is that the claims for al-Sahifah al-Sajjadiyyah’s tawatur are not consistent with the standards of rijal science. But the gathering of evidence, particularly through the tariq and fihrist look at the book, suggests the reliance on the issuance of al-Sahifah al-Sajjadiyyah that is called al-Sahifah al-Kamilah al-Sajjadiyyah. The author of the present paper considers the rijal evaluation for reliance on written heritage as ineffective. By providing some evidences, he demonstrates the customary reliance on this book. Findings of this research study indicate that mentioning the narrators and chain of transmissions through the legacy of famous books is merely for receiving blessing and consecration. They also show that this book has been obtained through a musnad way. Existence of some unknown narrator in the chain of transmission does not inflict any loss on the written legacy. However, some evidences such as different documents, five ply hadiths concerning al-Sahifah, and Zeidi’s chain of transmission somehow offset the weakness of the evidence for al-Sahifah al-Sajjadiyyah.

Abu Mikhnaf and Content-Document Analysis of His work: Maqtal al-Hussayn (as)

Abu Mikhnaf Lut bin Yahya is a prominent Akhbari (historian) of the first century AH and the narrator of historical hadiths. Since most of his works are concerned with Iraq, his name is a reminiscent of issues such as Jamal, Siffin, Battle of Karbala, and Mukhtar’s Revolt. Maqtal al-Hussayn - peace be upon him - is one of the most important works written by Abu Mikhnaf and well received by the preceding and recent scientific circles. In order to display the status of Abu Mikhnaf and scientific value of his work Maqtal al-Hussayn - peace be upon him – the authors of the present paper first attempt to introduce the character of Abu Mikhnaf and then review different aspects of this very important work in its various dimensions - which plays an important role in description of one of the most historical events of early Islam.
