Inner Knowledge

He who attains inner knowledge of Allah has achieved perfection in his knowledge indeed.

مَعرِفَةُ النَّفسِ أنفَعُ المَعارِفِ . ح: 9865

The inner knowledge of the self is the most beneficial of all such knowledge. H: 9865

كَيفَ يَعرِفُ غَيرَهُ مَن يَجهَلُ نَفسَهُ ؟ ! ح: 6998

How can one who is ignorant of his own self expect to know others?! H: 6998

مَن عَرَفَ نَفسَهُ جاهَدَها ، مَن جَهِلَ نَفسَهُ أهمَلَها . ح: 7855 - 7856

He who gains inner knowledge of his self combats it, and he who remains ignorant of his self, neglects it. H: 7855 & 7856

أكثَرُ النّاسِ مَعرِفَةً لِنَفسِهِ أخوَفُهُم لِرَبِّهِ . ح: 3126

The person who knows his self the best is he who fears his Lord the most. H: 3126

مَن عَرَفَ اللَّهَ كَمُلَت مَعرِفتُهُ . ح: 7999

He who attains inner knowledge of Allah has achieved perfection in his knowledge indeed. H: 7999

مَعرِفةُ اللَّهِ سُبحانَهُ أعلى‏ المَعارِفِ . ح: 9864

The inner knowledge of Allah, Glory be to Him, is the highest of knowable truths. H: 9864

مَن سَكَنَ قَلبَهُ العِلمُ بِاللَّهِ سَكَنَهُ الغِنى‏ عَن خَلقِ اللَّهِ . ح: 8896

He whose heart finds peace in knowing Allah, finds peace in being needless of Allah’s creatures. H: 8896

غايَةُ المَعرِفَةِ الخَشيَةُ . ح: 6359

The peak of inner knowledge of Allah is fear [of Him]. H: 6359

يَسيرُ المَعرِفَةِ يُوجِبُ الزُّهدَ في الدّنيا . ح: 10984

The least knowledge of Allah leads one to abstain from the vanities of this world. H: 10984

الشَّوقُ خُلصانُ العارِفينَ . ح: 855

Longing [for Allah] is the sincerest friend of the gnostics. H: 855

العِلمُ أوَّلُ دَليلٍ، والمَعرِفَةُ آخِرُ نِهايَةٍ . ح: 2061

Knowledge is the first guide whereas inner knowledge [of Allah] is the ultimate goal. H: 2061

نالَ الفَوزَ الأكبَرَ مَن ظَفِرَ بِمَعرِفَةِ النَّفسِ . ح: 9965

The one who attains knowledge of his own self has obtained the greatest victory indeed. H: 9965

مَن عَرَفَ نَفسَهُ عَرَفَ رَبَّهُ . ح: 7946

He who attains inner knowledge of his self attains inner knowledge of his Lord. H: 7946

يَنبَغي لِمَن عَرَفَ نَفسَهُ أن لا يُفارِقَهُ الحُزنُ والحَذَرُ . ح: 10937

It befits one who knows the dignity of his own self to never allow a sorrowful and self-cautious state to leave him. H: 10937
