International Conference on Hazrat Abu Talib (AS)

Academic Call for Papers International Conference on Hazrat Abu Talib (AS), the Sponsor of Holy Prophet Mohammad (SA)

In the Name of Allah

Hazrat Abu Talib (peace be upon him), Imam Ali’s father and Prophet Muhammad’s uncle, was a great sponsor of the Holy Prophet of Islam and his religion at the very early days of Islam. His life is full of honor, sacrifice and sincerity. In addition to being in charge of the Ka'bah, he was the protector of the poor and helper of the disadvantaged. However, his sacrifice and endurance for the sake of Islam and Prophet Mohammad is the brightest season in his life.

Nevertheless, due to the historic grudge of the enemies of the Ahlul-Bayt (AS), the dimensions of his personality have been covered under the ghost of slander, neglect, or obscenity.

Individual works that have been conducted over the centuries, too, have focused on the topics related to the faith of Abu Talib; but have left unheeded his ethical, social and literary traditions.

So far, there has not been a general and significant conference to collect and publish articles of elites and thinkers around the world.

Now, the Ahlul-BaytWorld Assembly, as an international NGO that promotes the teachings of the Holy Qur'an and provides intellectual and cultural support for the followers of the Ahlul-Bayt (AS), intends to hold an international conference on “Hazrat Abu Talib (AS), the Sponsor of Holy Prophet Mohammad (SA)”in collaboration with some other institutions in Iran.

Therefore, we invite all scholars and researchers in the fields of Islamic history, seera (Lifestyle of the Holy Prophet of Islam and the Ahlulbayt), Islamic ideology, Kalaam (Islamic theology), Islamic bibliography, Arabic literature, etc. to write and send us academic papers on each of the four categories mentioned hereunder (or any other subject related to this event) to help eliminate the historical oppression onthe great personality of Hazrat Abu Talib.
