253 - عَليكُم بِالأمصارِ العِظامِ‏

253. You Should Live In Great Cities

848.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام - فيما كَتَبهُ إلى‏ الحارثِ الهَمْدانيّ - : واسكُنِ الأمْصارَ العِظامَ ، فإنّها جِماعُ المسلمينَ ، واحْذَرْ مَنازِلَ الغَفلَةِ والجَفاءِ .¹

848.Imam Ali (AS) said, in a letter to al-Harith al-Hamdani, 'And keep your residence in large cities, for they are the gathering places of Muslims; and stay away from places of ignorance and coarseness.' ²

252 - بَلدَةٌ طَيِّبَةٌ

252. A Fair Territory

(بَلْدَةٌ طَيِّبَةٌ وَرَبٌّ غَفُورٌ) .¹

"...a good land and an all-forgiving Lord!" ²

(وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ الْقُرَى‏ الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا قُرىً ظَاهِرَةً وَقَدَّرْنا فِيهَا السَّيْرَ سِيرُوا فِيها لَيالِيَ وأَيّاماً آمِنِينَ) .³

"We had placed between them and the towns which We had blessed hamlets prominent [from the main route], and We had ordained the course through them: 'Travel through them in safety, night and day." ⁴
