"something is done in the presence of the Infallible Imam and he does not reject it so that his silence implies that he has confirmed it". This definition is comprehensive and includes all instances of taqrir. It is better to define it in the following way: "Any confirmation, approval or endorsement of an action and speech by the Infallible Imam in any way." This definition is different from the first one that matches only one type of taqrir. It encompasses all types of taqrir. Providing these types and extract of samples from hadith texts help us explain the role and importance of taqrir.
