Abstract

The Prophet Muhammad's way of communication with his family is one of the areas that can lead mankind in different fields of family communication and laying the groundwork for the evolution and continuity of the family as the most important social institution.

The aim of this study is to provide the fundamentals and principles of the Prophet's communication with his family in a scientific method and based on communication model so as to present the practical means of taking example from the best of mankind, viz. the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and make it available to all.

The present research study has dealt with all of the Prophet’s communications with his family, according to the scientific definition of communication and based on the family section of the valuable book Sirat al-Nabi authored by Ayatullah Muhammad Muhammadi Rayshahri, that is, a collection of the Prophet Muhammad's sira in historical and authentic hadith sources and achieved the following results:

The Prophet's fundamental principles of communication with family include communication based on the belief in Allah and the Resurrection Day, commitment and responsibility, human dignity, and human values.

The Prophet's principles of communication with family are:

A. Principles relating to the content of the message, namely, the principle of making love, the principle of support, the principle of care, the principle of awareness, the principle of education, the principle of hope, the principle of giving the aid, the principle of encouraging, the principle of accountability, the principle of consulting, the principle of honor, the principle of defense of rights, and the principle of gratitude.

B. Principles concerning the deliverance the message, the principle of taking care of family members, the principle of proportionality, the principle of qualified, the principle of ethic, the principle of respect, the principle of justice, the principle of leniency, the principle of transparency, the principle of persistency, the principle of tolerance, the principle of persuasion, the principle of not to impose, the principle of discretion, the principle of manners.
