1585 - ثَمَرَةُ الكِذبِ
1585. THE CONSEQUENCE OF LYING
(إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي مَنْ هُوَ مُسْرفٌ كَذَّابٌ) .1
"Indeed Allah does not guide someone who is a profligate, a liar." 2
(فَأَعْقَبَهُمْ نِفاقاً فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ يَلْقَوْنَهُ بِما أَخْلَفُوا اللَّهَ ما وَعَدُوهُ وَبِما كانُوا يَكذِبُونَ) .3
"He caused hypocrisy to ensue in their hearts until the day they will encounter Him, because of their going back on what they had promised Allah and because of the lies they used to tell." 4
5459.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله: إنّ الكذبَ يُسَوِّدُ الوَجهَ .5
5459.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'Lying blackens the face.' 6
5460.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : الكِذبُ يَنقُصُ الرِّزقَ .7
5460.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'Lying decreases sustenance.' 8
5461.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : ثَمَرَةُ الكذبِ المَهانَةُ في الدُّنيا والعَذابُ في الآخِرَةِ .9
5461.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'The consequence of lying is humiliation in this world and punishment in the Hereafter.' 10
5462.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : كَثرَةُ الكذبِ تُفسِدُ الدِّينَ وتُعظِمُ الوِزرَ .11
5462.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Excessive lying corrupts one's religion and increases one's burden [of sins].' 12
5463.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : الكذبُ يُؤَدِّي إلَى النِّفاقِ .13
5463.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Lying leads to hypocrisy.' 14
5464.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : مَن كَذَبَ أفسَدَ مُرُوَّتَهُ .15
5464.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Whoever lies corrupts his valour.' 16
5465.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : مَن عُرِفَ بالكذبِ قَلَّتِ الثِقَةُ بهِ ، مَن تَجَنَّبَ الكذبَ صُدِّقَت أقوالُهُ .17
5465.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Whoever is known to lie will be less trusted, and whoever refrains from lying will be trusted in what he says.' 18
5466.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : يَكتَسِبُ الكاذِبُ بكِذبِهِ ثلاثاً : سَخَطَ اللَّهِ علَيهِ ، واستِهانَةَ النّاسِ بهِ ، ومَقتَ الملائكةِ لَهُ .19
5466.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'A liar acquires three things with his lies: Allah's discontentment with him, the people's despising him, and the angels' hatred towards him.' 20
5467.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : اعتِيادُ الكِذبِ يُورِثُ الفَقرَ .21
5467.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Habitually lying brings about poverty.' 22
5468.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام : لا تَكذِبْ فَيَذهَبَ بَهاؤكَ .23
5468.Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, 'Do not lie, lest your splendour fade away.' 24
5469.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام : إنّ الرجُلَ لَيَكذِبُ الكِذبَةَ فَيُحرَمُ بها صَلاةَ الليلِ .25
5469.Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, 'When a man lies, he is deprived of the Night Prayer as a result.' 26
5470.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام : إنَّ مِمّا أعانَ اللَّهُ (بهِ) علَى الكذّابينَ النِّسيانَ27.28
5470.Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, 'That which Allah helps [to expose] the liars with is forgetfulness.' 2930
