401. Consolation

1829 - الحَثُّ عَلى‏ المُواساةِ

1829. ENCOURAGING CONSOLATION

6501.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله: مَن كانَ لَهُ قَميصانِ فلْيَلبَسْ أحَدَهُما ولْيُلبِسِ الآخَرَ أخاهُ .¹

6501.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'He who has two shirts should wear one and should give the other to his brother to wear.' ²

6502.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : أحسَنُ الإحسانِ مُواساةُ الإخوانِ .³

6502.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'The best of goodness is giving consolation to one's brothers.' ⁴

6503.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : لاتَعُدَّنَّ صَدِيقاً مَن لا يُواسي بمالِهِ .⁵

6503.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Do not count as a friend one who does not give assistance [to others] with his wealth.' ⁶

6504.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : مُواساةُ الأخِ في اللَّهِ عزّوجلّ تَزيدُ في الرِّزقِ .⁷

6504.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Consolating one's brother for the sake of Allah increases one's sustenance.' ⁸

6505.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام : تَقَرَّبوا إلَى اللَّهِ تعالى‏ بِمُواساةِ إخوانِكُم .⁹

6505.Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, 'Come closer to Allah through supporting your brothers.' ¹⁰

6506.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام : خَصلَتانِ مَن كانَتا فيهِ وإلّا فاعزُبْ ثُمّ اعزُبْ ثُمّ اعزُبْ ! قيلَ : وما هُما ؟ قالَ : الصَّلاةُ في مَواقيتِها والُمحافَظَةُ علَيها ، والمُواساةُ .¹¹

6506.Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, 'There are two traits that one should possess, and if not then begone, begone, begone!' He was asked, 'And what are they?' He said, 'Performing the prayers at their prescribed times and observing all its laws, and giving consolidation [to others].' ¹²

6507.الإمامُ الكاظمُ عليه السلام - لِجَعفرِ بنِ محمّدِ العاصِميِّ - : يا عاصِمُ، كيفَ أنتُم في التَّواصُلِ والتَّواسي ؟ [قالَ : ]قلتُ : على‏ أفضَلِ ما كانَ علَيهِ أحَدٌ . قالَ : أيَأتي أحَدُكُم إلى‏ دُكّانِ أخيهِ أو مَنزِلِهِ عِندَ الضَّائقَةِ فيَستَخرِجُ كِيسَهُ ويأخُذُ مايَحتاجُ إلَيهِ فلا يُنكِرُ علَيهِ ؟! قالَ : لا ، قالَ : فَلَستُم على‏ ما اُحِبُّ في التَّواصُلِ .¹³

6507. Imam al-Kathum (AS) said to Jafar b. Muhammad al-'Asimi, 'O Asim, how are you at maintaing contact with each other and offering consolidation to each other?' [He said] I said, 'The best that anyone can be.' He said, 'Do any of you come to your brother's shop or his home in times of hardship and you pull out your purse for him to take whatever he needs without disapproving of him?!' He said, 'No.' Imam (AS) said, 'Then you are not at a state of mutual assistance that I love.' ¹⁴

1828 - عِلاجُ الوَسواسِ‏

1828. THE TREATMENT OF DEVILISH MISGIVINGS

(وَقُلْ رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ * وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَنْ يَحْضُرُونِ) .¹

"And say, 'My Lord! I seek Your protection from the promptings of devils; and I seek Your protection, my Lord, from their presence near me." ²

(قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ * مَلِكِ النَّاسِ * إِلهِ النَّاسِ * مِنْ شَرِّ الْوَسْواسِ الْخَنَّاسِ * الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ * مِنَ الجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ) .³

"Say, 'I seek the protection of the Lord of humans, Sovereign of humans, God of humans, from the evil of the sneaky tempter who puts temptations into the breasts of humans, from among the jinn and humans." ⁴

6498.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : صَومُ ثَلاثَةِ أيّامٍ مِن كُلِّ شَهرٍ - أربَعاءُ بَينَ خَميسَينِ - وصَومُ شَعبانَ يَذهَبُ بوَسواسِ الصَّدرِ ، وبَلابِلِ القَلبِ .⁵

6498.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Fasting for three days of every month - the first and last Thursdays of the month, and the Wednesday in between the two, and fasting in the month of Shaban removes the misgivings in the breasts and the confusions of the heart.' ⁶

6499.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام : ذِكرُنا أهلَ البَيتِ شِفاءٌ مِن الوَعكِ والأسقامِ ووَسواسِ الرّيبِ .⁷

6499.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Remembrance of us, the ahl al-bayt is a cure from indisposition, ailments and misgivings of doubt.' ⁸

6500.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام - وقد سُئلَ عَنِ الوَسوَسَةِ وإن كَثُرَت - : لا شي‏ءَ فيها ، تقولُ : لاإلهَ إلّا اللَّهُ .⁹

6500. Imam al-Sadiq (AS), when asked about [devilish] misgivings, and if they happen often, said, 'They are insignificant. Just say: 'There is no God but Allah (la ilaha illa Allah).' ¹⁰
