Common Courtesy

Give life to your act of courtesy by killing it [i.e. by killing your expectation of receiving anything in return].

فِعلُ المَعروفِ ، وإغاثَةُ المَلهوفِ ، وإقراءُ الضُّيوفِ ، آلَةُ السِّيادَةِ . ح: 6585

Performing common acts of courtesy, bringing solace to a grief-stricken person, and being hospitable to guests is the instrument of leadership. H: 6585

المَعروفُ ذَخيرَةُ الأبَدِ . ح: 980

Acts of courtesy are treasures for eternity. H: 980

أحْيِ مَعروفَكَ بِإماتَتِهِ . ح: 2282

إذا صُنِعَ إلَيكَ مَعروفٌ فَاذكُرْ ، إذا صَنَعتَ مَعروفاً فَانْسَهُ . ح: 4000 - 4001

مَن لَم يُرَبِّ مَعروفَهُ فقَد ضَيَّعَهُ . ح: 9115

One who does not sustain his good action loses it. H: 9115

خَيرُ المَعروفِ ما اُصيبَ بِهِ الأبرارُ . ح: 4983

The best act of common courtesy is that which good people are able to benefit from. H: 4983
