Nobility

It is not among the characteristics of generous people to hasten in taking revenge.

مَن كَرُمَت نفسُهُ صَغُرَتِ الدُّنيا في عَينِهِ . ح: 9130

He who is noble towards his own self, his desires become contemptible. H: 9130

الكريمُ يَتَغافَلُ ويَنخَدِعُ . ح: 446

A generous person becomes inattentive and is thus [seems to be] tricked. H: 446

المُبادَرَةُ إلَى العَفوِ مِن أخلاقِ الكِرامِ ، المُبادَرَةُ إلَى الانتِقامِ مِن شِيَمِ اللِّئامِ . ح: 1566 و 1567

Rushing to forgive is of the morals of the generous, and rushing to take revenge is the habit of the vile. H: 1566 & 1567

سُنَّةُ الكِرامِ الجُودُ . ح: 5558

The habitual practice of the generous is munificence. H: 5558

ليسَ مِن شِيَمِ الكِرامِ تَعجيلُ الانتِقامِ . ح: 7490

مَن لم يُجازِ الإساءَةَ بالإحسانِ فليسَ مِن الكِرامِ . ح: 8958

He who does not repay bad with good is not of the noble. H: 8958

عَوِّدْ نفسَكَ فِعلَ المَكارِمِ ، وتَحَمُّلَ أعباءِ المَغارِمِ ، تَشرُفْ نفسُكَ . ح: 6232

Habituate yourself to performing noble deeds and paying the debts of others, and your self will be noble. H: 6232

لِلكِرامِ فَضيلَةُ المُبادَرَةِ إلى‏ فِعلِ المَعروفِ وإسداءِ الصَّنائعِ . ح: 7353

Noble people possess the merit of initiating good deeds and performing generous acts. H: 7353

إذا كَرُمَ أصلُ الرَّجُلِ كَرُمَ مَغيبُهُ و مَحضَرُهُ. ح:  4163

When the origin of a person is noble, his behavior is noble in both his absence or in his presence. H: 4163
