1020. INSTRUCTION OF POLYTHEISM

3241.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام : إنَّ بَني اُمَيَّةَ أطلَقُوا لِلنّاسِ تَعليمَ الإيمانِ ولَم يُطلِقُوا تَعليمَ الشِّركِ ؛ لِكَي إذا حَمَلُوهُم علَيهِ لَم يَعرِفُوهُ .¹

3241.Imam al-Sadiq (AS) narrated, 'Verily the Umayyads used to allow the teaching of faith to people but did not permit polytheism to be taught, so that when it came to their converting them [the people] to it, they would not be able to recognise it.' ²
