Sheikh Saduq's Rationalism and Theology

Intellect and text are two basic sources of religious teachings. Scholars are sometimes classified into rationalists and textualists. This paper tries to demonstrate that how much Sheikh Saduq utilizes intellect in dissemination of religious teachings. in the meantime it is clear that Saduq is a rationalist theologian though his rationalism is different with that of others. First Sheikh Saduq's views on Intellect and reliability, and its scope will be verified and then his rational activities in the field of discovering the religious teachings and rational defense of them.

A Critical Review of Akhbaris' Methodology of Rijal Science

In rijal and usul books, it is usually said that akhbaris are against the science of rijal. The author of the present paper tries to prove that not all of them are against but a fraction of them. Many of them have special rijali views and works. It is also demonstrated that methodology of these scholars in respect with the science of rijal is based on non-systematic foundations which are in conflict with rijali-usuli views. These foundations are discussed by the author of this paper.
