(involuntary slip) which are usually made by the writers of manuscripts. To find the correct text, he investigates a variety of manuscripts. In this paper, the author deals with four rules which have been utilized by Muhammad Taqi Majlisi in his approach to hadith. They are as follows: fiqh al-lughah (word analysis), taqiyyah (religious dissimulation), naql bi mana (paraphrasing), and ta`arud akhbar (conflict of hadiths). Majlisi has used old dictionaries to find the true sense of the hadith words, while taking into consideration the connotations and denotations of them. To him, taqiyyah (religious dissimulation) is an important issue in analysis of the content of hadith. Since most of traditions have been issued in taqiyyah, it can be used as a solution for the conflict of hadiths. In his opinion, paraphrasing hadith by Shaykh Saduq has damaged the meaning of hadith. This paper is concerned with the stages and rules of hadith scholarship as viewed by Muhammad Taqi Majlisi in Lawami` Sahibqarani.

A Discussion on the Hadith, "Khudhu ma Rawawu and Da`u ma Ra'aw"

After the Holy Quran, Hadith is the most fundamental issue, discussed in the cognitive fields of human knowledge. Thus, it is necessary to have a widespread approach to hadith and view it from different perspectives. One should not be content with rijali discussions while analyzing hadith, on the other hand, it should be analyzed through a variety of ways so that the exact investigation of concepts is obtainable. This paper deals with a hadith which is debated by many hadith scholars. The author tries to view it from different perspectives. This hadith has been narrated by Sheikh Tusi concerning Bani Faddal. It is used as a rule for many usul, rejal, and jurisprudential issues. The author of the present paper finally concludes that this hadith has an ambiguity of issuance and in case of acceptance of its issuance it holds opposing views by many scholars due to its indications.
