Components of Feeling Happiness in Hadith:
A Psychological Approach

The present research study aims at determining the components of feeling of happiness. There is a question here: what is the meaning of happiness? What are the components of feeling of happiness? The researchers try to find the meaning of happiness using concept analysis. Then they look into the concept of happiness and related concepts through content analysis and rational analysis in order to find the components of feeling of happiness. The results of this study indicate that happiness is a combination of khayr (good) and surur (vivacity). Feeling of happiness is a combination of feeling of happiness and vivacity and in the next stage satisfaction itself is divided into more detailed components such as gratitude in pleasing events and tolerance in unpleasing events, propensity for obedience and aversion to sin. Vivacity is also analyzed in respect with worldly affairs and spiritual concerns.
