The Imām’s Granddaughter
277. Ansāb al-Ashrāf – narrating from Muslim, the author of al-Hanā: “When Ali (a.s.) was through with the Battle of Jamal, he came to Kufa and entered the treasury…. Then the daughter of Hasan –or Husain- (a.s.) came in and took something from it.
He [Ali] (a.s.) went after her, opened her fist and took it back from her.”
We said: “O Commander of the Faithful! There is a right for her in the treasury!”
He said: “When her father receives his share, he can give her as much as he wishes.”2
