Dar al-Hadith Scientific-Cultural Institute
Hadith, after the Holy Quran, and as a second religious source of Islam, has a large share in the introduction of Islam and the formation and development of Islamic Sciences.
The Dar al-Hadith Scientific-Cultural Institute is the first independent Institute that is specialized in the sciences and researches of Hadith in the Shi’ah World. This Institute began its activities officially in the holy city of Qom on 20\6\1416 AH –correspondent to the anniversary of the blessed birth of Lady Fatima al-Zahra’ (a.s.), by the decree of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and with the efforts of its founder and director Ayatollah Muhammad Muhammadi Reyshahri for the propagating of the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) and the Infallible Imams (a.s.).
The Institute promotes its mission through three approaches: educational, research, and publicity.
Educational approach by the Quran and Hadith University;
Research approach by the Quran and Hadith Research Centers;
Publicity approach by the Cultural and International Communications Department;
Other sub-departments of the Institute include International Centre for Islamic Manuscripts, Specialized Hadith Library, Secretariat of Conferences, Publishing Organization, and other parts of the institute.

The Research Center aims at creating, and developing methods and models, systematic utilization of the Quran and Hadith in the fields of teachings, development of research on the luminous teachings of the Prophet and Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.), and the production of scientific and applied works.

The Research Center for Hadith Sciences and Teachings publishes two periodical journals:
Ulum-e Hadith (Sciences of Hadith) Journal
This periodical journal is the first scientific publication specialized in the field of hadith and the sciences related to it, and it is in Persian. This journal appears orderly in every season since autumn of 1417 AH. Until now, tens of specialized articles, interviews, and other subjects have been published in this journal.
Mirath-e Hadith Shi’ah (Heritage of Shi’ah Hadith)
This is an Arabic-Persian periodical. It is concerned with presenting the written Shi’ah heritage in the field of Hadith and its sciences. It is also concerned with revising and reviving brief and short treatises. This journal appears every six months, and until now twenty one volumes have been published.
The Research Center for Ahl al-Bayt’s Exegesis of the Quran
The Research Center for Ahl al-Bayt’s Exegesis of the Quran was established in 2012, at the beginning of Ramadan 1433, in order to systematically utilize Ahl al-Bayt’s hadiths for exegesis of the Holy Quran and develop the Quranic studies based on the teachings of the Prophet and his household, may peace and blessings be upon them.

The Research Center for Shiite Theology
It has been established in order to address doctrinal issues, especially those derived from the Infallible Imams' hadith, and demonstrate Shiite theological views.

The Research Center for Ethics and Behavioral Sciences
Since a large part of the religious texts including the Quran and Hadith has been allocated to Islamic ethics, it is one of the important missions of the Islamic sciences to deal with it.
The research center has been established in order to bridge the existing gap between ethics and behavioral sciences according to the Islamic approach.

The Quran and Hadith University
This university is one of the pillars of the Dar al-Hadith Institute and one of the non-governmental high education institutes in the country. It was established in 1378 Solar year (1999 AD) by a decree from the Higher Council of the Cultural Revolution. The college receives students after undergoing a general test. The degree given to students by this university has been certificated by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology. The goal of establishing this university was to find harmony between the teaching of hadith and preparing teachers and researchers in hadith sciences on the one hand, and the academic education on the other. It was to find a firm affinity between the Hawzah Seminary and universities in the field of hadith.
The Quran and Hadith University is currently very active in Rey (Tehran) and in Qom. It will also soon open branches in other cities, by the will of Allah. It receives students for the Bachelor’s Degree in the following specialties:

Virtual Learning Center
The Virtual University of the Quran and Hadith is one of the leading academic centers in the field of e-learning. Using the Internet, it has provided an opportunity for those who want to learn via the Internet. The Centre’s main program is to provide students with online courses and approved syllabus, granting accredited bachelor’s and master’s degrees to students who have passed the courses successfully. The center is going to launch Arabic-language courses in the future.

The Cultural and International Communications Department
This department as an important part of the Institute undertakes the responsibility of the proliferation and propagation of the culture of hadith among various social groups, proper notification of the Institute's activities, and communication with scientific centers in the country and abroad. It also supports joint scientific activities of various parts of the institute (including University and Research Centers) with research centers in the country and abroad. This department is comprised of the following sections:

The General Office of Culture consists of four units: Unit of Cultural Management, Unit of Editing Texts, Unit of Public Education and Unit of Answering Hadith Questions.

This unit undertakes the task of operating and supporting the websites of the Institute in addition to production of Islamic Softwares.

The main mission of these two units is to introduce the institute and its related parts in addition to the scientific products of research centers in order to disseminate the rich culture of Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.).
The International Affairs Unit undertakes the responsibility of introducing the institute to the scientific, cultural, religious and educational circles around the world, while the Public Relation Unit is responsible for introducing the institute to the domestic institutes.
Among other responsibilities of these two units are: identification of the areas of cooperation and joint activities with respect to other institutes; paving the way for joint academic activities (both educational and research) with other scientific centers; supporting the domestic and international joint activities of the Quran and Hadith Research Centers and the Quran and Hadith University and appropriate information about these activities as well.
The Specialized Hadith Library
The institute also possesses a specialized library of Shiite hadith. This library is unparalleled in its kind. Almost all the necessary resources will be available to scholars of Hadith. This library contains 50000 printed books, 400 manuscripts, 2500 photocopies, 150 titles of other different publications, and 1200 theses of graduates on hadith sciences and other subjects.
The International Center for Islamic Manuscripts
The International Center for Islamic Manuscripts has been established with the aim of identifying and collecting the principal and the image of Islamic manuscripts, especially rare manuscripts, providing researchers with easy-to-use access to manuscripts, and paving the way for scholars to research through printed and digital versions.
The Secretary of Conferences
The city of Rey in Tehran is one of the oldest Shi’ah cities. It was and is still a place of knowledge and scholars. According to the position this city has, there was a pressing need to form a secretary for honoring the outstanding scholars of this city. With the cooperation of the office of the Custodians of the Holy Shrine of Sayyid Abdul Azim al-Hasani (a.s.), this secretary arranges ceremonies to honor the scholars of Hadith.
The General Office of Information and Communication Technology
The General Office of Information and Communication Technology has been established with a mission to provide maintenance and support of their platform and tools, information and communication technology.
Publications of the Dar al-Hadith Institute
This organization is concerned with printing, publishing, and distributing the products of the Institute and other works related to hadith and hadith sciences. The main branch of the Dar al-Hadith Institute is in Qom (Iran). There is another branch in Beirut (Lebanon). The organization has published more than 350 books in more than 600 volumes.
