According to China.org website, the bi-monthly magazine was founded by The China Islamic Association in 1957.
With the beginning of the Cultural Revolution in 1966, the publication of the magazine was stopped but it was reactivated in 1981.
It is Chinese Muslims’ only specialized magazine which is distributed in China and other countries.
Interpretation of religious concepts, promotion of religious culture, development of academic Islamic-cultural studies, dissemination of Islamic culture and ethics and introduction of Islamic-art achievements of Muslims are some of the objectives of the magazine.
It covers news and articles on Quranic sciences, Hadith and Shariah, information on Islamic figures, reports on economic issues, mosques, interviews and introduction of new books and publications.
Islam, which entered China in the seventh century, is one of the five religions recognized by the People’s Republic of China. It has a membership of between 18 and 25 million adherents.
