وَقَالَ (عليه السلام):
Amir al-mu'minin, peace be upon him, said:
الدَّهرُ يُخْلِقُ الاْبْدَانَ،
Time wears our bodies,
وَيُجَدِّدُ الاْمَالَ،
renews desires,
وَيُقَرِّبُ الْمَنِيَّةَ،
brings death nearer
ويُبَاعِدُ الاْمْنِيَّةَ،
and takes away aspirations.
مَنْ ظَفِرَ بِهِ نَصِبَ،
Whoever is successful with it encounters grief
ومَنْ فَاتَهُ تَعِبَ.
and whoever misses its favours also undergoes hardships.
