Nahj al-Balagha Hadith n. 328

Selections from The Sayings and Preaching of Amir al-Muminin Ali ibn Abi Talib (Peace Be Upon Him) Including His Replies to Questions and Maxims Expressed for Various Purposes.
Translated by Sayyid Ali Reza

Amir al-mu'minin, peace be upon him, said:

Allah, the Glorified, has fixed the livelihood of the destitute in the wealth of the rich.

Consequently, whenever a destitute remains hungry it is because some rich person has denied (him his share).

Allah, the Sublime, will question them about it.
