The outer inscription also begins on the south side:
1. In the name of God, the Merciful the Compassionate. There is no god but God. He is One. He has no associate [beginning of the shahadah]. Say: He is God, the One! God, the eternally Besought of all! He begetteth not nor was begotten. And there is none comparable unto Him [112 complete except for the introductory basmalah]. Muhammad is the Messenger of God [completion of the shahadah], the blessing of God be on him [blessing].
2. In the name of God, the Merciful the Compassionate. There is no god but God. He is One. He has no associate. Muhammad is the Messenger of God [shahadah, complete]. Lo! God and His angels shower blessings on the Prophet. O ye who believe! Ask blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation [33:56 complete].
3. In the name of God, the Merciful the Compassionate. There is no god but God. He is One [beginning of the shahadah]. Praise be to God, Who hath not taken unto Himself a son, and Who hath no partner in the Sovereignty, nor hath He any protecting friend through dependence. And magnify Him with all magnificence [17:111 complete except for the initial And say .]. Muhammad is the Messenger of God [completion of the shahadah], the blessing of God be on him and the angels and His prophets, and peace be on him, and may God have mercy [blessing].

کتيبه‌هاي بيروني نيز در طرف جنوبي اينگونه آغاز مي‌شود:
«1ـ بِسْمِ الله الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ * لا اله الا الله وحده لا شريک له( آغاز شهادت)، قُلْ هُوَ الله أَحَدٌ * الله الصَّمَدُ * لَمْ يلِدْ وَ لَمْ يولَدْ * وَ لَمْ يکنْ لَهُ کفُواً أَحَدٌ.( سوره اخلاص به صورت کامل به استثناي بسمله آغازين)، محمد رسول الله (تکميل شهادت آغازين) صلي الله عليه(صلوات).
2ـ بِسْمِ الله الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ * لا اله الا الله وحده لا شريک له محمد رسول الله (شهادت کامل) إِنَّ الله وَ مَلائِکتَهُ يصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِي يا أَيهَا الَّذينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيهِ وَ سَلِّمُوا تَسْليما (سوره احزاب آيه 56).
3ـ بِسْمِ الله الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ * الْحَمْدُ لله الَّذي لَمْ يتَّخِذْ وَلَداً وَ لَمْ يکنْ لَهُ شَريک فِي الْمُلْک وَ لَمْ يکنْ لَهُ وَلِي مِنَ الذُّلِّ وَ کبِّرْهُ تَکبيراً (سوره اسراء آيه111به جز «وَ قُلِ» آغازين) محمد رسول الله (تکميل شهادت)، درود و رحمت خدا و ملائکه و تمامي پيامبران بر او باد و اميدواريم که خدا او را رحمت کند.(صلوات).
