247 - صِفَةُ الباغي‏

247. The Charactristics of The Aggressor

830.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام - في قولِهِ تعالى‏ : (فَمَنِ اضْطُرَّ غيرَ باغٍ ولا عادٍ)¹ - : الباغي الّذي يَخرُجُ علَى الإمامِ .²³

830. Imam al-Sadiq (AS), with regards to the verse: "But should someone be compelled, without being aggressive or rebellious..." ⁴ , said, 'The agressor is whoever rises to fight against the Imam.' ⁵

46. AGGRESSION

246 - التَّحذِيرُ عَنِ البَغيِ‏

246. Warning against Aggression

(فَلَمّا أَنْجاهُمْ إِذَا هُمْ يَبْغُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ يَا أَيُّها النّاسُ إِنَّمَا بَغْيُكُمْ عَلَى‏ أَنْفُسِكُمْ مَتاعَ الْحَياةِ الدُّنْيا ثُمَّ إِلَيْنا مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَنُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِما كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ) .¹

"But when He delivers them, behold, they commit violations on the earth unduly! O mankind! Your violations are only to your own detriment. [These are] the wares of the life of this world; then to Us will be your return, whereat We will inform you concerning what you used to do." ²

(... وَيَنْهى‏ عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنْكَرِ وَالْبَغْيِ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ) .³

"...and He forbids indecency, wrong, and aggression." ⁴

823.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : إنَّ أعجَلَ الشَّرِّ عُقوبَةً البَغيُ .⁵

823.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'The evil deed to be punished the quickest is agression.' ⁶

824.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : مَن سَلَّ سَيفَ البَغْيِ قُتِلَ بهِ .⁷

824.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Whoever draws the sword of agression will be killed by it [himself].' ⁸

825.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : البَغيُ يَسْلُبُ النِّعمةَ .⁹

825.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Agression removes [Allah's] favor.' ¹⁰

826.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : البَغيُ يُوجِبُ الدَّمارَ .¹¹

826.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Agression brings about destruction.' ¹²

827.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : إيّاكَ والبَغيَ فإنّهُ يُعَجِّلُ الصَّرْعةَ ، ويُحِلُّ بالعاملِ بهِ العِبَرَ .¹³

827.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Avoid agression, for it expedites death and makes of its doer a lesson to others.' ¹⁴

828.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : إنَّ البَغيَ يَقودُ أصْحابَهُ إلَى النّارِ .¹⁵

828.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Agression leads its perpetrators to the Hellfire.' ¹⁶

829.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام : انظُرْ أنْ لا تَكَلَّمَنَّ بكَلِمةِ بَغيٍ أبَداً ، وإنْ أعجَبتْكَ نَفسُكَ وعَشيرَتُكَ .¹⁷

829.Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, 'Make sure that you never utter one aggressive word, even if you admire [the strength of] yourself and your tribe.' ¹⁸
