وَقَالَ (عليه السلام):
Amir al-mu'minin, peace be upon him, said:
أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ،
O people,
اتّقُوا اللهَ
fear Allah
الَّذِي إِنْ قُلْتُمْ سمِعَ،
Who is such that when you speak He hears
وَإِنْ أَضْمَرْتُمْ عَلِمَ،
and when you conceal (a secret) He knows it.
وَبَادِرُوا الْمَوْتَ
Prepare yourself to meet death
الَّذِي إِنْ هَرَبْتُمْ أَدْرَكَكُمْ،
which will overtake you even if you run away,
وَإِنْ أَقَمْتُمْ أَخَذَكُمْ،
catch you even if you stay
وَإِنْ نَسِيتُمُوهُ ذَكَرَكُمْ.
and remember you even if you forget it.
