وَقَالَ (عليه السلام):
Amir al-mu'minin, peace be upon him, said:
إِنَّ اللهَ سُبْحَانَهُ وَضَعَ الثَّوَابَ عَلَى طَاعَتِهِ،
Allah, the Glorified, has laid down reward for obedience to Him
وَالْعِقَابَ عَلَى مَعْصِيَتِهِ،
and punishment for committing sins against Him
ذِيَادَةً لِعِبَادِهِ عَنْ نِقْمَتِهِ،
in order to save men from His chastisement
وَحِيَاشَةً لَهُمْ إلَى جَنِّتِهِ.
and to drive them towards Paradise.
