Selections from The Sayings and Preaching of Amir al-Muminin Ali ibn Abi Talib (Peace Be Upon Him) Including His Replies to Questions and Maxims Expressed for Various Purposes.
Translated by Sayyid Ali Reza

Amir al-mu'minin, peace be upon him, said:

Whoever set right his inward self,

Allah sets right his outward self

Whoever performs acts for his religion,

Allah accomplishes his acts of this world.

Whoever's dealings between himself and Allah are good,

Allah turns the dealings between him and other people good.
