أ ـ طيبُ الوِلادَةِ
Legitimate Birth
881. رسول اللّه صلى الله عليه و آله :
881. The Prophet (SA) said:
يا عَلِيُّ ، لا يُحِبُّكَ إلّا مَن طابَت وِلادَتُهُ ،
“O Ali None loves you except him whose birth is legitimate
ولا يُبغِضُكَ إلّا مَن خَبُثَت وِلادَتُهُ ،
and none hates you except him whose birth is illegitimate.
ولا يُواليكَ إلّا مُؤمِنٌ ،
None befriends you except the true believer
ولا يُعاديكَ إلّا كافِرٌ .
and none shows enmity to you except the disbeliever.”

ب ـ الإيمانُ
Faith
882. الإمام عليّ عليه السلام :
882. Imam Ali (AS) said:
لَو ضَرَبتُ خَيشومَ المُؤمِنِ بِسَيفي هذَا عَلى أن يُبغِضَني ما أبغَضَني ،
“Should I hit the nose of the true believer with this sword, that he may hate me, he will not hate me;
ولَو صَبَبتُ الدُّنيا بِجَمّاتِها عَلَى المُنافِقِ عَلى أن يُحِبَّني ما أحَبَّني ؛
however if I give this world in its entirety to the hypocrite, that he may love me, he will not love me‚
وذلِكَ أنَّهُ قُضِيَ فَانقَضى عَلى لِسانِ النَّبِيِّ الاُمِّيِّ صلى الله عليه و آله أنَّهُ قالَ :
for it has been decreed by God from the mouth of the Unlettered Prophet (SA) to the effect that:
يا عَلِيُّ ،
‘ O Ali!
لا يُبغِضُكَ مُؤمِنٌ ،
A true believer will never hate you
ولا يُحِبُّكَ مُنافِقٌ .
and a hypocrite will never love you.”

ج ـ التَّقوى
God-wariness
883. رسول اللّه صلى الله عليه و آلهـ لِعَلِيٍّ عليه السلام ـ:
883. The Prophet (SA) said to Ali (AS):
لا يُحِبُّكَ إلّا مُؤمِنٌ تَقِيٌّ ،
“None loves you except the God-wary believer
ولا يُبغِضُكَ إلّا فاجِرٌ رَدِيٌّ .
and none hates you except the evil libertine.”
