The Translations of Miftah al-Falah and Aqa Jamal al-Din Khunsaris Translation

Ali Sadrayi-Khuyi

In the beginning, the writer renders an introductory account of Sheikh Bahayis Miftah al-Falah, in which he considers its method of arrangement as well as the innovations the Sheikh did in his invaluable work. Next, among the translations of the Sheikh Bahayi volume, he briefly compares the one done by Sadr al-Din Tabrizi and the one produced by Aqa Jamal al-Din Khunsari. This is followed by a list of the commentaries devoted to Miftah al-Falah. Besides introducing the Persian works of Aqa Jamal al-Din Khunsari and his special concern for the Imams hadiths, the writer further compares his translation with those of others. He remarks that Khunsaris translation is distinct from others in the sense that he added certain comments, too. In the end, there is a chronologically-arranged list of Aqa Jamal al-Dins manuscripts in Iran.
